About

s.Pro will see itself in a leading role of a new, truly international ocean multi-use project MULTI-FRAME, starting 1 June 2020. With the Kick Off meeting in Brisbane 14-17 June at the Sustainability Research & Innovation Congress 2020, s. Pro looks forward to meeting all the project partners and kickstarting the project activities.

The MULTI-FRAME project has been awarded funding under the Belmont Forum, Future Earth and JPI Oceans 2018-2019, after responding to the international call for research proposals on  Transdisciplinary Research for Ocean Sustainability.

The project aims to increase the knowledge-base and capacity of public and private actors for ocean MU systems, by providing concrete open source tools, assessment results and best practice examples. As part of the project, the five multi-use scenarios will be developed in 5 case study areas: Sweden, United States, Mozambique, France and Norway, involving a wide range of public, private, research and community actors. Results are expected to encourage systemic consideration of the ocean multi-use concept in marine planning practices and its streamlining in relevant ocean policies.
